Boston+Cream+Pie

 

I love Boston Cream Pie. It is delicious because it mixes chocolate, pudding, and yellow cake together to create a masterpiece. For all of you that love to bake but do not have any time, I found a recipe that makes a great cake, and gets done in a flash. After sifting through countless recipes of homemade Boston Cream Pies, I found a recipe that had gotten great reviews, so I decided to try it — and it was a scrumptious! So, if you want a Boston Cream Pie without all the work, this recipe is a must-do! Cake:
A box of yellow cake mix — just follow the instructions on the box (I used Betty Crocker)

Filling:
One package of vanilla pudding
1 cup of milk
1 and 1/2 cups of Cool Whip

Chocolate Topping: (I love chocolate, so I doubled this)
1 square (an ounce) of unsweetened baking chocolate
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons of milk
3/4 cup of powdered sugar

Instructions:
Cake: First preheat the oven to whatever your cake box specifies, and then closely follow all of the instructions. Now, you can either use cooking spray, or a great cake lift to grease your two 9 inch circle cake pans. To make the cake lift, spread Crisco around the bottom and sides of each cake pan. Then sprinkle flour in the middle of the pans, and hit them gently, which should cause the flour to stick in the sides. After this is done put the cake in the oven, and bake it for the directed time. The cakes are done when you stick a toothpick or knife in the center it comes out clean. Put the cakes on a wire rack once they are cool.

Filling: Take the pudding mix and blend it (two minutes) using a beater with the cup of milk. Then fold in the Cool Whip. Let this sit for five minutes. At this point your cakes should be cool, so put one on a plate, and pour this pudding mixture onto it. Spread it around evenly. Then stack the other cake on top of this, and press down lightly.

Topping: Microwave the butter and chocolate for a minute. Stir the chocolate until it has melted completely. At this point add your powdered sugar and milk. Make sure to stir the mixture very well otherwise you will end up with powdered sugar chunks. Pour this on the top of the cake, and let it drip down the sides. Chill the cake, and enjoy!
