The Ravens: Should I Join?

The Ravens, a new club at Saint John’s Prep this year, makes it easy for students to get involved in serving the school community.  Members of the Ravens can choose from a wide variety of opportunities for helping with campus ministry and community formation.  If you are interested in any of the following, consider joining the Ravens!

-Reading morning prayer and announcements

-Reading at mass or colloquium

-Helping with school retreats

-Singing during mass

-Playing an instrument during mass

-Being a greeter or an usher at mass

-Being a school ambassador for special events

-Participating in service projects

-Sharing your own ideas for community formation

To join the Ravens, simply join the Schoology group or email Mr. Fremo.  From there, students will divide into teams based on their interests.  Junior Grace Knoblach, a Ravens member, says that the club is similar to Peer Ministry, a class offered at Prep in previous years.  The Ravens, however, combines a broader range of service opportunities and allows students to choose how they participate.  “This really encompasses everything,” Grace says.  With no regularly scheduled meetings, the Ravens is an easy club to be a part of — simply choose what interests you and go share your talent!
