Dear Autumn, Please Don’t Leaf Us… Enjoy the Season Before it’s Gone!

Whether you’re looking for a day full of family fun or a haunting night out with friends, there are many opportunities to celebrate the wonderful season of autumn, not to mention Halloween!

For those looking for a fun day out with the family, check out A & G Corn Maze! Don’t be fooled by the name; they offer so much more than a corn maze; including a hayride, corn cannon, pumpkin sling-shot, and even pick-your-own pumpkins out in the patch! They are open Saturday and Sunday through October 30th, 11 a.m. until the sun goes down. But wait, there’s more… Friday and Saturday nights, after the sun has set, take a chilling ride through the zombie-infested maze. Beware – you must fend for yourself! Equipped with a fully loaded paintball gun and 400 balls, you are able to defend yourself as you travel through the maze on an army truck.

If that interests you, perhaps you’d like to take a trip through the Harvest of Horror! Friday’s and Saturday’s through October 28th, 7-11 p.m., rain or shine, you are able to take an ominous hayride through the Field of Screams. If you make it out alive, you will then move through the Timbers of Terror, and finally the Field of Screams. Not for the faint of heart!

For families, take a trip out to the A Maze’n Farmyard! They offer a barn full of adorable animals, a super fun 150-foot slide, mini-golf, a 20,000 square foot maze, lots of fun family activities, and, most importantly, lots of adorable puppies! They are open Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. At A Maze’n Farmyard, there’s always something to please everyone!

Those looking for the most frightening scare in Central Minnesota, fear not! Or do.. at Molitor’s Haunted Acres. This attraction features a haunted hayride through the Woods of Doom, where monsters, ghosts, ghouls, and plenty of clowns lurk in the darkness. After your ride, enjoy some snacks and/or drinks at the rest stop, where there is also a bonfire and a paintball attraction. To exit, you must travel through an additional five haunted scenes full of all your worst nightmares. If this sounds like your cup of tea, check it out! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, but stay open until 11 p.m. on Friday’s and Saturdays! Go, if you dare..

For more family fun, check out the Nelson Farm! They are open Saturdays 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday’s 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. through October 29th. Some of the festivities you’ll find at Nelson Farm include hay rides, fun houses, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin cannon, barn swing, adorable animals, underground tunnels, and lots of yummy food! As a child I visited the Nelson Farm countless times- definitely a  favorite!

As you can tell, we are surrounded with bountiful opportunities to have some fun this autumn. Take advantage of them, winter will be here before we know it. Happy fall y’all!
