As you’ve probably seen in the news, Trump has recently made an unpresidential comment towards NFL players who did not stand during the national anthem before their games. Now it doesn’t matter if you tolerate Trump and his ways or absolutely despise him; we can all agree that “Get that son of a b**** off the field right now. Out. He’s fired.” is not a kind phrase to utter. (This is what Trump said in response at his appearance in Alabama on September 22nd 2017.)

By way of background, the kneeling by NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was in protest of the shooting of an African American by a caucasian police officer. If President Trump truly understood the Constitution of our country, he would know that peaceful protests are protected under the first amendment. Maybe this is news to him, but being President of the United Stated does not mean you can say anything that is on your mind and not expect serious backlash. For years, our country, whether it was lead by a Republican or Democrat, has had–for the most part–prestigious presidential figures that children could look up to, but now we have this Hollywood star with no filter. From banning Transgender applicants from joining the military to terrible verbal abuse against woman, President Trump is a deplorable representative and leader for our country. In my opinion, all of these childish outbursts are strategies of the Trump administration to flex his muscles and distract us from the dire problems we are facing with other countries that could be the start of terrible things.
