On September 24, 2019, Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives would launch a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump. The charges include, but are not limited to, betraying his oath of office and putting our national security at stake by seeking to enlist a foreign power to tarnish a rival for his own political gain. This comes weeks after a “whistleblower” report claiming that President Trump attempted to bribe, blackmail, and threaten Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The talk of impeachment is no new topic; Democrats have been pushing for the impeachment of our President since he was elected. Now that the long awaited Mueller Report has been released and the “Collusion Delusion” is over, Democrats have found a new outrageous claim to try and impeach a president that they do not agree with. The long, drawn out Mueller Investigation costed American Taxpayers about 32 million dollars. In a new report from The Washington Examine, it was reported that this so called “whistleblower” had “some type of professional relationship” with one of the Democratic Presidential Candidates. Ukraine has an interesting relationship and history with the front running Democratic Candidate, Joe Biden. It is reported that Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, worked for Burisma, the leading private natural gas producer in Ukraine. While his father was in office, Hunter Biden worked to end corruption in Ukraine from the U.S. side. Biden and his son have been paid $900,000 as part of his lobbying fee for Burisma. Now, the claims that President Trump blackmailed the Ukrainian President to investigate Joe Biden have been shot down by the Ukrainian President himself. On October 10, President Zelensky said in a media event that there was no bribery or blackmail. The media reports that said the United States withheld $400 million dollars from Ukraine because they did not investigate Biden are false. The money was withheld because of ongoing concerns of corruption with American taxpayer dollars. The investigation and impeachment inquiry will do nothing productive for the American people. This will cost us more money and if anything, end up hurting the Democrats in 2020.
