Halloween at Prep

With the costume contest, door decorating contest, and candy grams, the St. John’s students had a very festive and exciting Halloween season. The week commenced with the 6th Grade’s Fundraiser by selling candy grams. The 6th Graders sold the candy grams in the hallway on October 26, 27, and 28 before school. Each Candy Gram was $1. On the 29th of October, the 6th Graders sorted the candy grams and delivered them to the students. By the end of the week, over 400 Candy grams were sold! All of the money went to the Humane Society.

Throughout the week, the Advising classes participated in a Halloween door decorating contest. Everyone had a fun time decorating their doors, and walking around the school, and seeing everyone else’s creative decorations on their doors. At the end of the week, the judges walked the halls and decided that Ms. Boschee’s advising won 3rd place, with Ms. Janku’s advising in 2nd place, and Mr. Young’s advising in 1st place.

At the end of the week, the school had a costume contest for those that dressed up for Halloween. Many people decided to participate, and the audience voted by applause for who would win the costume contest. The audience decided that Brady Skahen 26’ would win as “Napoleon Dynamite”, Natalie Kayser 25’ would win as Mr. Ellenbecker, and Lincoln Spychala 27’ and Teddy Hennen 26’ would win as “Crutches”. The teachers also participated in the Costume Contest. Mr. Nydeen won as “Star Wars Darth Nydeenicus”.

All in all, St. John’s prep students enjoyed a spectacular Halloween. All are excited for the next holiday season.
